Domestic Fitter: Up-and-Over

This half day course is a hands on installation training covering Hörmann Retractable & Canopy Doors.

Modules

  • Introduction

  • Common issues

  • Installation & Removal of a Retractable door

  • Service, Maintenance & Repairs on Retractable doors

  • Installation & Removal of a Canopy door

  • Service, Maintenance & Repairs on Canopy doors

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course the candidate will have:

  • A thorough understanding of Hörmann Retractable & Canopy Doors

  • Knowledge of the different types of fitting issues and remedies used

  • Understanding of the correct installation processes for Retractable & Canopy Doors

Candidates cannot be considered competent installation or maintenance operatives on completion of this course. Although it discusses the problems, standards and pitfalls of electrical work in this environment, it does not provide the knowledge or experience necessary to be considered as electrically skilled. These very important craft-based skills and knowledge must be gained by supervised field experience in addition to attending relevant manufacturers product specific training.

Intended Audience

On the day

This one-day course is a hands-on installation training covering Hörmann Sectional Doors.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course the candidate will have:

  • A thorough understanding of Hörmann Sectional Doors.

  • Knowledge of the different types of fitting issues and remedies used;

  • Understanding of the correct installation processes for Sectional Doors.

Candidates cannot be considered competent installation or maintenance operatives on completion of this course. Although it discusses the problems, standards and pitfalls of electrical work in this environment, it does not provide the knowledge or experience necessary to be considered as electrically skilled. These very important craft-based skills and knowledge must be gained by supervised field experience in addition to attending relevant manufacturers product specific training.

Candidates will require a good understanding of written and spoken English, together with a solid field-based understanding of installation of Domestic Doors. As the course involves hands on installation training suitable workwear and PPE is required including Steel Toe Cap Boots/Shoes., we have a strict no shorts policy within the training academy.

This one-day course is a hands-on installation training covering Thermo46 & 65 Front Entrance Doors and Side Elements along with an overview of some technical elements of our composite entrance doors.

Modules

  • Introduction

  • Door Types

  • Common issues

  • Installation & Removal of a Single Thermo65 including adjustments

  • Installation & Removal of a Thermo46 door with side elements including adjustments

  • Technical training of hinge adjustment, MPL replacement, glazing changes and side element coupling

At the end of this course the candidate will have:

  • A thorough understanding of Hörmann Thermo46 & 65 Front Entrance Doors

  • Knowledge of how to make adjustment and changes to composite doors

  • Knowledge of the different types of fitting issues and remedies used

This one-day course is a hands on programming & wiring of ProMatic 4, SupraMatic 4 with both wired & wireless accessories.

Arrival & Parking

Parking is available opposite reception in our visitor spaces. If there are no visitor spaces available please ask the receptionist who can advise of alternative parking.

When you report to reception you will be given a Hörmann badge to show you are here as a visitor. Please wear this at all times.

We have two designated smoking areas within our car parks. We would ask you to use the one on the left side of the main entrance.

Cancellation policy

If you would like to amend your booking, you must contact Natalie Ainge to discuss the changes. We reserve the right to accept or reject any requests.

Cancellation requests can be made over the phone, via email, or in person. Please be aware that if you do not attend the training session or do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance, your company will be invoiced £100 to cover related costs and training time.

We have the right to change the time and date of any event by providing you with written notice at least 24 hours in advance. If we notify you of a change to the booking, you have the option to cancel or reschedule.
